Each playwright is provided with a director, a dramaturg, a troop of actors, a rehearsal space, and anything else they need for the month-long workshop during August and September. The number and frequency of the workshop sessions is at the discretion of the playwright to best serve their process, and typically ranges from a total of 5 to 10 sessions per project.

OF JEWELS AND DREAMS

An African-American man with intellectual disabilities pursues independence and romance while juggling relationships with his sister and his ailing mother.  A death leads them to confront their fears and desires, their concepts of life’s struggles and family, and the realities of their world.

UNDERNEATH

HOBBLED

After four sheep are fed a hallucinogenic flower by a cross-dressing angel, they are sent on a horrific journey across the desert to witness the birth of a baby named Jesus Christ.  When one of them breaks away from their mission, it ignites a series of explosive, faith-testing events involving lepers, wise men, and a foul-mouthed Little Drummer Boy.
