The Board will support the work of InFusion Theatre and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by InFusion's Artistic Director, the Board-Artistic Director relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about and InFusion’s mission and the arts in the Chicago area. Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members.

Specific Board Member responsibilities include:
Leadership, governance and oversight
- Serving as a trusted advisor to the Artistic Director as s/he develops and implements InFusion’s strategic plan
- Approving InFusion’s annual budget, reports, and material business decisions; being informed of, and meeting all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities
- Assisting the Artistic Director and board president in identifying and recruiting other Board Members
- Serving on committees and taking on special assignment
- Ensuring InFusion’s commitment to a diverse board and staff that reflects the communities it serves
Fundraising
- Each Board Member is responsible for generating a minimum fundraising amount* for each year of board membership (regardless of any matching programs the member may utilize).
- Each Board Member is responsible for soliciting silent auction donations for the annual fundraiser
Board terms/participation
- Board Members will serve a one-year term (September to August) and will continue to be eligible for re-appointment to additional terms on an annual basis.
- Board meetings will be held quarterly and special event planning meetings will be held in coordination with full board meetings.
